First copy has arrived! I feel like a particularly difficult and aimless kid has gone off to college and then grad school and come back polished and secure, with an Argentinian girlfriend and excellent job prospects.

I just got my first copies of LIFE AMONG GIANTS from the publisher. It's a beautiful object, the kind of book, my agent says, that people are going to want to own. It's an exciting and slightly harrowing time: the book is written, the publicity is in progress, the tour is coming soon. I'm already worn out! But I'll remember, when people ask how the book is doing, to say: "The book is doing fine! It was great when I wrote it, and it's still great now!" Reviews, sales, media, all that good stuff: that's just gravy. I hope!
